I don't know if anyone else has this going on, but my FB has been messed up since Monday. This goes for both desktop and laptop running XP and 7 respectively, and also affects the mobile site as well. My iPhone still works though! I'm using IE8, and have tried firefox too, to no avail.
It's like there are about fifty thousand more graphics now accompanying each link. You know how jaws reads for Chinese characters or graphical symbols, with lots of question marks in its voice? That's what it's doing with FB. I can't even use the site, because 90 percent of the links don't have names, just this weird graphic (I'm assuming.) Like I said, this started on Monday. Does anyone know what they did, or what could be going on here?

I am not having that problem. It seems to work fine.
the version of your screen reader might have something to do with it too. JFW 12 doesn't seem to be experiencing any issues.

neither am I. Fb seems to be working fine for me.
It is working great on my iPhone. A friend also did tell me it has become strange on her computer, so maybe it is affecting some users? Who knows with Facebook!
I'm going to be supremely pissed if it's only affecting jaws 11 and lower.. all you guys who arn't having difficulties, do you have jaws 12?
I'm using Jaws 11 and it is working fine for me, at least the mobile site is, don't ever touch the main site so can't speak to that.

However, I have noticed they seem to have removed the ability to post links. Not sure if its just my end though since I've seen others posting links jsut fine but that feature seems to have disappeared for me.
I'm using NVDA and the mobile site. I haven't had any problems. But things have shifted a bit, particularly with notifications. It used to be that the new ones were always ontop. Now older ones normally come before the latest ones,. Yesterday, it also started reading them differently. It would just say that someone has commented on a link or post, sometimes showing me two or three links to whomever commented and then a link to the post itself. Now, it says "photo" before everything in notifications and if someone likes a status or if more than one person comments, it's all in one link. One good thing that they've done is to stop posting photos every single time someone adds new friends. It used to be that if someone would add five new friends, I'd see "graphic photo" five times. It would go up to ten friends. But I've also seen where, for example, if someone adds ten friends, each will show up in a different post, so it's almost as bad. Maybe, they fixed that by now. Another thing that I don't get at all are these stupid headlines. You used to just be able to choose most recent and that was it. But now, they have headlines before the recent stories. I wish they'd just leave it alone!

OK could be two things:
First, the kids at Facebook may be rolling out a new version, which they typically do in stages, meaning different users start getting the new page at different times.
However, you said thee thing about the question marks with the reader. Does it ever say 'chinese', or some other language?
Go onto the mobile site and go down to the bottom I believe, there is a line that should say English U.S. or whatever language you have selected, and a link that says 'Change'. If it's anything other than English, you should of course click 'Change' and change that.
I'm not sure that would be it.
Of course, your iPhone application is a third-party application, even though it does come from Facebook, so the information is served to you in a different way. Roll-outs of the apps isn't necessarily paired with roll-outs of the site.

Apparently my FB was in Russian... why was it in Russian? I had a sighted friend change it back to English for me. I have no idea why it was in Russian.
Lol! Well, I'm glad you fixed it. I've decided to jettison my Fb; I'm just not using it enough to warrant keeping it.
